Classic films are forever an intriguing part of American life. What qualifies a movie to become a classic is varied as is opinions, but there are some general things that most will agree on. Filming techniques, directing ability and acting all come into play when considering a movie a classic. There is also the most important part of a movie, the audience. The ability of this movie to connect to you on a personal level, tugging at your emotions and touching your soul made it a classic. The ability of a movie to cross the lines of generations and gender also is important. When the movie comes together and you feel as though you are transported to the heart of it and only realize once again when the movie ends that you are in a theater and not the movie, it’s a classic.

An example of a movie that crossed the line into classic status is “The Jazz Singer” from 1927. This movie left a lasting impression on anyone who has ever viewed it. Produced by Warner Brothers and starring Al Jolson, who was a notable musician at the time, “The Jazz Singer” started the movies of Hollywood moving in another direction. Americans were introduced to musicals and talking which wasn’t common in the movie world. The drama of the movie could touch people’s hearts and souls so you left the theater moved for the first time.

Embracing antiwar and political statements, “All Quiet on the Western Front” was a classic film from 1930. With the book already in print the movie followed a German boy who had the displeasure of WWI personally. This movie brought to light the issues at hand of the violence of the war and with many soldiers returning from war crippled, or wounded if at all, it made an impact. Filmed in the back lots and country in California, this movie brought the pain and suffering felt by many American families in the open. The ability of the filmmakers to make a movie focusing on the harsh realities of the time made this movie an instant classic.

In 1937, Disney released the first full length cartoon and captured audiences like never before. “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was a technological feat for the time period. People marveled at the fabulous new technology and families enjoyed the movie together. Including human characters and fantasy ones allowed joy to enter the hearts of all who watched. The story intrigued many as a fairytale that had no violence and ended happily ever after.

There have been many movies to enter the realm of classic status since 1930, allowing generation gaps to close and both males and females to be touched emotionally and spiritually. A classic film will never go out of style as people yearn to be moved on the movie screens even today.

Watch Movies Online Problem

Many people really enjoy watching movies online. Given that one way to watch movies online is through web streaming at high speed. Most connections can download a whole movie when you watch it, it’s very easy way to watch movies online.

There is one problem about watch movies online, the issue is security. There are 2 concerns that must be considered in watch movies online on the internet. The First is the malware and the second is the legality.

There are many website over the internet saying that they have a film or movie downloads that do not have a lot of malware. Malware will be a virus or spyware than can be damage your files or spy on your activities. You will need to have an active virus scanner and spyware each time working with the Internet to protect yourself and keep you safe from malware.

Rarely there is a completely legal. Lots of movies on their site filled with virus or spyware. Your computer will be at risk and may not be legal.

To stay protected, go to the website that can give you a movie to fully understand the law is legitimate. It will be published as Hulu, the Internet networking site, Youtube , and other. It is legal and they are safe with no major problems of malware.

If you hear around web page for watch movies online, that delivers movie like above. Find out if it’s a legitimate service and people who have commented on issues of viruses on the site.

And If you watch movies online on the internet and realized the film was still in a theater show, do not watch it. You understand it is not legal and you do not realize what website does to your computer system.

One more message from me is to stay safe in watching movies online from Internet.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)

Po (Jack Black) returns in Kung Fu Panda 2 animation adventure which sees our ever hungry panda face up to a new and devastating threat in the form of angry albino peacock (Gary Oldman) Lord Shen. Having been cast out by his parent’s years before for his atrocities, Shen has been biding his time returning with a new technology that threatens to enable him to conquer China.

Kung Fu Panda 2

Po is joined once again in Kung Fu Panda 2 with the Furious Five as well as a few new characters to try and save not only the local people but also the very fabric of kung fu and all that it stands for. Aside all of this, we also learn about the childhood of Po and how he came to be at the doorstep of Mr. Ping (James Hong) and his noodle restaurant.

Kung Fu Panda 2 film definitely takes on a darker feel when compared to the first and will surely give the younger kids in the audience something to keep them awake at night. It also has more packed into its story with extra depth and variety than the first did not necessarily have i.e. lineage and upbringing and the effect that has on us as adults.

The Kung Fu Panda 2 animation is fantastic and despite not hitting the heights of a Pixar movie is up there with some of the best that I have seen to date. My favorite scenes in the Kung Fu Panda 2 movies are the fighting scenes in particular one where they are assaulting Shen’s stronghold. The combination of action with the impressive visuals drags you right into the fight alongside the characters.

In the Kung Fu Panda 2, Po can get a bit annoying/repetitive at some points as the Jack Black from within is released and a torrent of ‘awesome’ and similar such catchphrases are rattled off one after the other but this did seem to be toned down slightly from his usual self so I began to think of Po as Po rather than Black in a panda costume.
I think this is a case of the sequel running the original very close and I would be hard pushed to say which one I preferred. Whereas the first was original and purely a kids flick this builds strongly on the first opening it to a wider audience with more of a slapstick feel to it which has me just siding with this one as the better of the two. Why don’t you make up your own minds as it’s definitely worth a watch Kung Fu Panda 2 on the big screen?

One of the industry’s finest actors, Aaron Eckhart established himself in films with enthusiasm and has become one of best sought after leading men. He is capable of transforming into the character the he portrays with quality mood, and is on the list of notable all-star status in the next years.

Ekchart first turned the heads of the audience in his excellent performance in the movie In the Company of Men (1997), where he played as a sycophantic businessman Chad. He played a memorable nature as a villainous character that is uniquely appealing to the audience, in a minute fascinating and charming, then next vengeful and sadistic. That led him to winning the award in the category Best Debut Performance in the Independent Spirit Awards in 1998. He also snatched the Outstanding New Talent in the Satellite Awards in the same year.

In the later years, he proved to be one of the aspiring actors often included in a cast of proven actors. Most notably the movies:

* Thank You for Smoking (2005) – Eckhart as Nick Naylor, a spokesman and representative for Big Tobacco companies and defender of smokers. He is often sent into the pits of criticisms by health campaigners and opportunist politicians.

* Erin Brockovich (1999) – Eckhart explored his talent by playing the role of George, a biker who fell and won the heart of Erin (Julia Roberts). It showed the lighter and romantic side of Eckhart.

* The Missing (2003) – Eckhart played as Brake Baldwin, a ranch hand and lover, alongside Cate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones

Aaron E. Eckhart was born on March 12, 1968, in the suburbs of Santa Clara County, California, by a computer executive father and a children books author mother. Globe-trotting is much more defined in Eckhart’s life since he goes almost like everywhere, in Hawaii, Australia, France and England. Later on, he studied theater and film at the Brigham Young University, developing his acting career and graduated but disappointments earned him the experience that he needed the most. Not long then, he met Neil Labute, who made Aaron play in several of his plays and movies (Nurse Betty and Your Friends and Neighbors).

Right after his graduation, Eckhart suffered the need of notable jobs; he actually tried as a construction worker (appearing in an advertisement for Miller beer), a waiter, a bartender and a bus driver before achieving celebrity status.

Sam Carrara is an avid movie watcher and enthusiast. Join him at OnSilverScreen.com for more movies with Aaron Eckhart at:

HBO is trying something that they’ve never attempted before. While most of the serials on HBO involve dark, gritty storylines, such as those found in the mafia hit The Sopranos or the life-on-the-inside prison drama Oz, they’ve decided to take a step in another direction. Lucky Louie recently premiered on the station, and it’s HBO’s attempt at landing the sitcom crowd. Starring Louis CK, a semi-famous stand up comic as the man of the house, the show also features Pamela Adlon playing his wife and 5 year old Kelly Gould playing his daughter. The chemistry of the cast is excellent, with fresh and savvy dialogue that you’d expect from a Hollywood comedy writing team. Lucky Louie follows the life of a standard American family, but with some notable HBO exceptions. Gone are all the standards of decency that you would come to expect from a show that revolves around a family. The dialogue is straight-from-the-gut, and it will leave you holding your own belly from laughter. Touching on topics ranging from child rearing to sex after marriage, the show consistently provides punch-lines that will leave you in stitches. While the show has had quite the powerful start, there’s only been two episodes aired thus far.

The pilot episode of Lucky Louie showed that although it’s a sitcom, they won’t be pulling any punches. Amongst other taboos that are smashed throughout the episode, Louis’ nasty habit of masturbating in the closet comes to light and, when asked by his daughter why things are the way they are, he simply replies with “Because God is dead and we are alone.” That’s the kind of comedy you can expect from this show – an almost altogether too-honest look inside of the quirks of the average American family. It’s a breath of fresh air to see a true-to-life sitcom that offers no apologies, and no subject is taboo. It’s also filmed in front of a live studio audience, which provides welcome refreshment from the canned laughter you can find on most TV shows. If you’re looking for your standard, stereotypically portrayed TV family, look elsewhere. If you’re part of a fed-up middle class working family with a good sense of humor, however, this show may be right up your alley. Lucky Louie is rated X for its strong language and simulated sex, and can be seen on HBO with new episodes every Sunday night at 10:30 PM.

If you are making an independent film on a miniscule budget it is inevitable that some aspect of your movie will be compromised due to your lack of funds. The ultimate challenge for an independent filmmaker working with a shoestring budget is to some how make their movie look and sound like it deserves to be with the big boys on the film festival circuit. While certain things have to be eliminated or kept to a minimum with a low budget film production such as special effects, makeup and lighting it is important to understand that the sound aspect of a low budget movie should never be compromised. Try sitting through a two hour movie that has a constant hum in the soundtrack and you will know what I mean. People will watch just about anything on the screen, but they will not listen to anything that assaults their sense of hearing.

The film industry began as a visual medium in which artists could be seen acting out stories on the silver screen, but in recent decades it would seem that the general movie going public is more interested in the way a movie sounds than the way it looks. Advances in sound technology have moved forward as fast as the advances in film and video technology have, but in the race for which aspect of a film people enjoy the most, sound is in the lead. Here is the proof: if you shoot a film with poor lighting, no costumes, no makeup and no special effects it is considered to be an artistic style of independent filmmaking called cinema verite. You can even scratch up the negative in the name of artistic license and people will still watch your movie. On the other hand, if you add some static noise to the soundtrack of a movie, mess up the lip sync of the dialogue or add errant sounds with no explanation then people will just think you are not an accomplished filmmaker technically. They will shun your movie.

Ever since the first sound movie, The Jazz Singer was made in 1929 on Stage 5 of the Warner Bros. lot in Hollywood the movie going public has been spoiled. They have come to expect that when they see a movie they will not only see life up on the screen but they will also hear it too. There is a certain level of technical quality they expect when they see movie. However, when it comes to hearing a movie, things are quite different: their standards for sound quality are much higher than their standards for visual quality. The eyes have a higher threshold for pain than the ears do, and the brain of a typical human being cannot handle uncomfortable noises for very long. The sound of a movie must be either real or surreal, but it cannot be bad. A film audience will not reject flaws in the visual esthetics of a movie as easily as they will reject a film for its poor sound quality. For instance, if the dialogue tracks of actors voices are too low it brings to the attention of the audience the fact that the actors voices were recorded. This can negatively affect their suspension of disbelief which reminds them that they are watching a movie, and not experiencing real life. It will ultimately affect their opinion of the film for certain.

The sound of a movie can determine whether or not it will be a success. The Star Wars movies owe much of their success to the sound designers and technicians who worked very hard to create alien sounds that complimented the visuals perfectly. They made those movies sound believable, literally, and that is a very hard thing to do in general when it comes to science fiction films.

The tools that are necessary to record, design and mix sound for movies have made great strides in terms of advancements. Only two decades ago there were only a handful of skilled sound recorders, designers, and mixers that provided the sound for movies. This was because the equipment was very expensive to purchase. A person who wanted to do this kind of work for a living would have to invest a large amount of money to buy a vast amount of equipment that filled up a lot of space. You would usually have to rent or buy a place to set up shop. On top of that you would probably have to take classes to learn the skills of sound for films. Nowadays, things are much different. Advances in sound technology have made everything smaller, easier to learn and definitely more affordable. A small, inexpensive digital sound recorder and microphone can now be used to record sound that is indistinguishable from sound that was recorded on a much bigger and much more expensive Nagra reel to reel sound recorder. A good digital sound recording package can be purchased for less than $1500. Also, a person can buy a home computer setup with a sound design/mixing program for under $1000. Twenty years ago you would have to spend about $20,000 to buy comparable equipment. You can even learn the necessary skills using computer program tutorials on your home computer. The best part about is the fact that you can literally do all the sound work on an independent film production entirely by yourself.

If you are planning to make an independent film and enter it in film festivals you should make sure that the sound quality is as good as the best films on the festival circuit. You cannot settle for sub-par when it comes to sound quality. If you do, your audience will notice it immediately and this will cause them to no longer suspend their disbelief. When this happens you can be sure that they will become annoyed and head for the exits.

Are you surprised to see that this subject has a topic of its own? That is because after someone spends the big bucks to get a very nice home theatre system, the aspect of home theatre seating is usually last on their minds. But it should not be. Proper seating is critical to the ultimate enjoyment of your home theatre investment.

Make sure you don’t make this same mistake. Yes, you need to plan for the type of screen you want from the myriad of choices, where to place it, what kind of surround sound system to get for it, where to put the speakers, what options to get with the receiver and amplifer … but plan for the home theatre seating too. Unless you have a gym-sized room and plan to watch your big screen TV with the entire football team and cheerleading squad, you probably don’t want (or can afford) a few dozen Barco loungers in your viewing area. At the same time, you don’t want to use plastic folding chairs, since your viewing audience will likely not make it through the opening credits of the movie before they start to get uncomfortable.

First of all, consider the characteristics of the viewing angle of your system, which is based on the technology you have chosen. Rear projection systems, for example, typically have poor viewing from angles that are very far away from dead on, whereas this same viewing angle issue is not a problem with plasma or LCD screens. DLP screens have this problem somewhat, although not as markedly as rear projection systems. In fact, if you consider the home theatre seating arrangement that you desire to have, this may also influence your decision on what type of technology to use for your big screen, which is yet another reason to plan the seating at the same time you are doing the initial planning for everything else.

For the typical home theatre which probably needs to seat a family-sized group of maybe 4 to 6 people, a couple of loungers and a large sofa would be fine. Now I’m not talking about the big mamma loungers that are the size of a small Cadillac, but just a very comfortable easy chair for you to watch a movie from. Much of the decision about your home theatre seating is going to be based on the size of the room where your system is going to be installed, as well of course as your budget and particular needs.

If you really want to go that extra mile, you may want to equip your surround sound audio system with something called a “tactile transducer”, sometimes also known as a Bass Shaker. This can be attached to a couch or a lounger, and at those times in the movie when there is an earthquake or an explosion or something like that, your home theatre seating residents of the couch or lounger FEEL the action via the Bass Shaker. While some folks feel that this is going a bit too far into the Disney realm, it is neat technology that is available today and not necessarily a budget buster either. A word of caution however — if you implement this technology, it will grow on you and you will want to equip ALL the seats in your viewing area with them as time goes on!

As you shop for the perfect lounger or recliner, you will be further ahead going with quality rather than absolute lowest price. The frame should be a hard wood, not plastic or purely metal. Also note the SIZE of the piece you are considering, since the last thing you want to do as you are purchasing another seat for your home theatre seating arrangement is to have to take off your door frame to get it into the house! You would be surprised at how many people don’t consider this aspect of it and end up having to return the chair of their dreams back to the store.

If you are a TV lover and have spent any time at all walking past the displays of big screen TV’s in your local stores, I can fully understand what happens — your remote control finger starts to twitch, your rear end starts to long for that comfortable spot in your favorite recliner, and you have a sudden urge to take your shoes off. At least that’s what happens to me. I admit it, I am a TV junkie. Not that I spend a lot of time in front of the TV but when I am there, I require quality, and the more quality in video and audio, the happier I am.

But with the technology available today to the consumer, the choices almost boggle the mind. And Joe Average doesn’t follow the technology closely enough to be able to understand which technology is best for his needs. In fact, Joe’s only gauge of quality is the unit’s price tag, which is probably about the LEAST reliable gauge of them all. So let’s take a quick look at the various technologies available for big screen TV so that you better understand what you are looking AT, as well as understanding what you are shopping FOR.

Regular tube TV: Yes, depending on your budget, this needs to be mentioned as a viable option, although unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past 50 years, there is little new that you need to know about it. It’s a TV, plain and simple. Tube TV’s are typically limited to about 36 inch pictures, with a couple top-end brands even getting to the 40 inch mark. The picture is good, and most of today’s upper-end sets also allow the viewing of HDTV on the same unit. My only word of caution here is that I cannot recommend a set that has a built-in VCR and/or DVD player. The built-in units are typically not high quality with limited functionality, and for the additional money you would pay for such a combo unit, you can get an external VCR or DVD player for far less money.

Now on to the big stuff. But first, since I already mentioned it, a word about HDTV. HDTV is great, providing an incredible picture quality, provided of course that you have the screen that can display that quality. With HDTV, without getting all techie about it, the digital signal contains much more information, and the picture is created in PROGRESSIVE mode rather than INTERLACED mode, meaning that the ENTIRE picture is refreshed with every scan instead of just every other line as is done with interlaced.

I would also recommend a unit with the wide aspect ratio, like 16:9 or sometimes 16:10. This is the ratio of width versus height of the display, and the wide aspect ratio is the one you see when you go to the movie theatre. You can still watch broadcasts on the wide aspect ratio that are designed for the old traditional 4:3 aspect ratio, but it is much harder to watch something designed for 16:9 on a 4:3 display.

Another word of warning: there are big screen units that cannot do HDTV but they can do EDTV. Be aware that these are not the same. In fact, with the next step (SDTV) right around the corner, I don’t see a long lifespan for EDTV. EDTV provides better quality than standard analog TV, but not as sharp and crisp as HDTV.

The different types of big screen TVs are discussed below.

Plasma TV

Advantages: long life (30,000 to 40,000 hours from brand names, significantly less with noname brands), very bright – up to 4-5 times a standard TV, viewing angle is huge – you can be 75-80 degrees off center and still see a clear picture, instant-on feature – there is virtually no warm-up time required, small footprint – since these units are very thin and could even be wall-mounted.

Disadvantages: possible burn-in or “image retention” if the same image is left displayed on the screen for an extended period of time (although when used as a TV this is probably not a concern), can be very pricey at the largest sizes possible (currently around a 50 inch display), very few have a tuner/amplifier built in so you will be required to get an external tuner, pixel failure – where a single pixel just remains white all the time although this is much more common on noname brands and may (check!) be covered under your warranty.

LCD TV

Advantages: Great brightness levels, also very thin and could be mounted on the wall, long life (about 40,000 hours on brand names, substantially less on noname brands), viewing angle is about 45 to 50 degrees from straight on.

Disadvantages: Ghosting – where there may be “artifacts” left on the display during a fast-action movie scene because the LCD cannot keep up with it that fast, viewing angle is not as good as plasma, very expensive technology today, not as good at reproducing accurate color as plasma.

DLP Rear Projection

Advantages: Low purchase cost although this is typically offset by higher operating costs. At the sizes above 42 inches, the DLP big screen is approximately the same price as plasma.

Disadvantages: high operational cost (the single bulb in the projector can cost upwards of $300 to replace), large footprint – you will need to allocate about 15-18 inches from the wall to accommodate the unit, not wall-mountable, poor viewing angle – not much more than 20-25 degrees from straight on, gradually decreasing bulb brightness over time which means your picture is not as sharp or bright.

Understanding the various display technologies available should help you, but keep in mind that this is not the whole story. Also know that as technology advances, prices will continue to fall and there may be more options in the future. There are many other factors to be considered which are discussed at my web sites below. But at least now you have a good feel for the type of technology that will work with both your desires and your budget.

Home Theater System Review You Must Read

If you have been looking for a home theater system review that will offer some insight into the difficult choices that are involved in choosing a system, then you have come to the right place.

Rather than just start listing the brands that are usually recommended this review will cover some important points that you should know.

1. There is such a tremendous variety of equipment available so it is virtually impossible to review every one.
2. It would also be impossible to actually listen to all the different configurations of equipment.
3. Everyone’s home is different and that effects the accoustics.

It is important, therefore, to keep in mind that there is no one system that will be suited to every single home.

Various sources of information have been used to compile this home theater system review, both from businesses and customers, but first you have a decision to make.

1. Do you want to assemble your system using different components?
As you can imagine this method can result in a superb system, but it would take more research than could be provided in the scope of this article. However, the information here will still provide you with information that will help you target different manufacturers.

2. Do you want to buy an all-in-one system?
This is what the review is aimed at; providing guidance in choosing from the better quality all-inclusive systems. While there is much written about the leaders (Sony, Panasonic, and Bose) we will focus on three other brands.

Consider Audiovox

The Audiovox company offers a variety of units and they have been mentioned on many reviews. This may be because they tend to be a bit lower on the price scale so be aware that you have to learn what you are purchasing. Check that you system (or any brand for that matter) provides connectivity to your television and any other components you may choose.

Make sure you are getting all of the needed wattage and sound options (Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic). Try to choose a unit that is closer to the 80 watts per channel. If you do this you could end up with one of their higher end units that would provide decent quality that would still be considerably less expensive than some of the higher priced leading brands.

Source out Samsung

The Samsung people say that they currently make less than six inclusive systems and are probably the best home theater system review
